In spite of the compact size all common PC interfaces are available for the usage of an embedded PC. The integrated Flash harddisk is bootable and can be used by MS-DOS as a "normal" hard disk. Therefore the system runs completely without any peripherals and is totally insensitive against mechanical and magnetical infl uences. To increase the service reliability an intelligent watchdog function which also supervises the bootphase of the system and a power fail switching is integrated. Because the memory of the setup parameter resides in the fl ash-EPROM, the unit runs either with or without the system battery. The board can be expanded with a graphic board to use a fl at panel display (PC/104-VGALCD-4) via the PC/104-bus. The integrated interfaces for an LCD character-display and a matrix keyboard or touch screen make the MOPSplus an ideal low cost All-in-one-computer for access terminals, measuring devices etc. The MOPSplus is an ideal unit to integrate a low cost PC function in compact devices (measuring systems, sales terminals, medical devices, ...)
